31 US states still tax tampons, pads, and other menstrual products as luxury goods, a sexist practice that has been aptly named the "tampon tax." However, women everywhere are effected by not having access to these vital products that are necessary month after month. According to a recent study commissioned by Thinx and PERIOD., "1 in 5 teens have struggled to afford period products or were not able to purchase them at all."
